Ian Duncan MacDonald

Before writing his 7 investment books, Ian Duncan MacDonald had written 3 novels. The investment books had called upon his 38 years of experience as a senior executive in the commercial risk information industry. There he built scoring systems to sort millions of companies from highest to lowest risk to protect his banks, insurance companies, manufacturers and wholesalers from catastrophic losses. Later, as a self-directed investor he used his risk information knowledge to build stock scoring software to help him select financially strong, high dividend paying stocks for his retirement portfolio. The result for the last two decades was a six-digit dividend income and a seven figure portfolio that has grown continuously.

When asked by friends for help he supplied his stock scoring software and taught them to invest like he did. Knowing he was a writer, they pushed him to write for their family and friends, his first investment book, "Income and Wealth from Self-Directed Investing". These investors enjoyed the same investment success Ian has enjoyed.
