Eivind Bjerke is the owner of Eivind and Hans of Georgetown Salon and Spa in Washington, D.C. After immigrating to the United States from Norway as a young man in 1964, he served as trusted hairdresser for many international dignitaries and Capitol-area clients, including some of the United States’ most powerful politicians and their family members. Named Washingtonian of the Year in 1992, he flew repeatedly on Air Force One as part of his service during state visits by President and Rosalynn Carter. His work on behalf of women with cancer earned him the American Cancer Society’s 2002 Patient Services Award.
