Welcome to my page. I am the author of four urban fiction books. I enjoyed writing in school, but never saw myself as an author. During the COVID shutdown, the world slowed down enough that I was able to publish my first book, YOU NEVER SAID GOODBYE, in 2020. I received such a positive response to that story that it inspired me to write The Last Time and Closure, forming the Skyy family trilogy. My next book is my take on a superhero tale, RIGHTEOUS GANGSTA RISE OF THE BLAC ANGEL. It is the story of a former gang member who has an out-of-body spiritual experience and gains superpowers, and ends up going against his former gang. Now, a bit about me: I was raised in North Carolina and attended college at Johnson C. Smith University. After college, I enlisted in the US Army as a Military Police officer stationed in Germany, Panama, and FT. Leonard Wood, MO. After the military, I got married and moved to Texas. In Texas, I worked in the juvenile justice system. With over twenty years of experience dealing with troubled youth, I was inspired to write You Never Said Goodbye, a young adult story of fourteen-year-old KJ Skyy struggling with his demons about his brother Jordan's murder. A tale of revenge vs forgiveness. From that book, my writing legacy began. The Skyy Family Trilogy has garnered multiple awards and commendations. THE LAST TIME won the Spring Bookfest 2022 2nd Place in Teen Fiction and 3rd place in Women's Fiction. It was a finalist for the Jerry Pickney award in 2022. The book CLOSURE was a finalist for the 2023 American Fiction Awards in the African American Category. Stay tuned, I have more stories to write.
