Mandy has been visiting Key West for many years and has seen a lot of changes in that time. One thing she knows that has not changed is the wonderful warmth and generosity of its people. Key West is a unique place and the people are very special.
Over the years she has come to know the island and its surrounding waters well and she believes that there is no place like it in the world. The welcome and acceptance that she has received is particularly special as she is a trans woman, who will always love the people of the island for this and be grateful for what they have done for her.
She now lives part of the time in England and part of the time in Key West (known locally as The Rock} in the Florida Keys. During her time in Key West she has written small pieces for local papers which have been published and which resulted in her being asked to write an autobiography about herself. This she did and self published it on Amazon, it's called 'Mandy, A Transwoman's Journey To Key West' and has over 1500 followers on Facebook. She has many friends on the island and knows it very well. She has worked for over 20 years in the music industry with one of the big record companies and also has a pilots licence, which has enabled her to bring realism to her latest story 'Love On The Rock'.
The inspiration for the story is really based on many experiences that Mandy has had both on land and on the water and the heroine’s story is really the one that she would like for herself.
