David Castillo

David Castillo was born in Barcelona, but has always felt deeply proud of his Andorran identity. A graduate in Labour Relations, specialising in Labour Law, he practised as a lawyer for just over two years before redirecting his professional career towards tax consultancy and “hanging up his gown”. He later completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management, as well as a Master’s degree in Coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

For a decade, he worked in radio and television as a contributor, producer and presenter, a career that earned him several awards in the field of communication. He also spent seven years advising and coaching prominent political figures, performing what is now commonly known as the role of a spin doctor.

He is the author of the acclaimed novel Ace of Hearts, which received an Honourable Mention at the 2024 International Latino Book Awards. For his work on Life in Wartime, he was awarded a Medal of Honour by the Government of Ukraine in recognition of the quality and relevance of his contribution.

He is currently focused on the launch of the television documentary he presents and directs, Cyprus: The Divided Island, a production that explores the Cyprus conflict through 38 interviews and testimonies from both communities on the island. The documentary includes interviews with the presidents of both sides and the highest-ranking United Nations representative in Cyprus.

A passionate traveller, he has visited more than forty countries and admits to being deeply fascinated by discovering ways of life in remote parts of the world. He says he could lose himself for days travelling through Greenland, captivated by the vastness and silence of the island. He also enjoys cooking, listening to others and sharing a good dinner with friends.

His best advice for facing life can be summed up in a simple formula: “n + 1” — because, no matter how many times one falls, one must always get up one more time.

His greatest wish is to be happy and, one day, to retire doing what he loves most: contemplating the sea, enjoying the sunset and writing.
