Joan Berry

Joan Berry was born in Bristol, Virginia, and graduated from Holston Valley High School. She owned her own business for almost two decades. Joan married Michael Berry, who is--and has always been--supportive of her work. She is the mother of two sons and one daughter, and the grandmother of four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren Joan's quest for justice led her to form the Hope Foundation and spearhead legislation that led to the Johnia Berry Act 2007, Truth-In-Sentencing, and the Life Photo Bill. She believes in God and the power of prayer, and she's grateful for the time she spent with her daughter and for the moments she shares with her children and grandchildren.
