Marcie Belgard has been an educator since 1965. She taught English Language arts and remedial reading in grades 4 through 12. She also taught classes on literacy at Washington State University. She has been a consultant in cooperative learning, reading, and writing workshop, and communication skills for many schools and school districts in Washington State. She also served as an advisor for OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Education) where she and a team of educators created lesson plans, power points, and presentations for teaching writing in elementary and secondary schools. She has also been selected for the state literacy award by the Washington Organization for Reading Development and the Christa McAuliffe award for excellence in education for Washington State which included a scholarship.
