Roberto Bayeto was born on March 16, 1964, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He grew up in the midst of a working-class family, and his childhood was spent in a suburb called Cerro de Montevideo, surrounded by hills and fields. His adolescence was marked by the harsh loss of his father and the course of a civilian-military dictatorship, events that, in some way, influenced his narrative.
He learned to write stories without formal teachers. His only influences were authors such as Bradbury, Ballard, Herbert, Lovecraft, Machen, and Bukowski. Like many other authors, he juggled writing with various jobs, including administrative work, stevedoring, bodyguard, police officer, journalist, entrepreneur, and reporter, among others.
He has developed his own style and has coined it "Pragmatic Oneirism": a literary form that mingles with fantasy and surrealism, which he has been developing for several years. The main characteristic of "Pragmatic Oneirism" is to connect several disjointed dreams with a linear architecture until they transform into a story or a novel.
Currently, he dedicates himself to writing, shares his ideas and opinions on his YouTube channel, and serves as the director and editor of the magazine Mordedor.
