I spent the last 50 years of my career as the CEO and/or President of a number of companies determining what was real and what was not. Time and again, skepticism proved to be a valuable ally although I found it needs to be partnered with an open mind and a willingness to embrace new ideas.
Turning the clock back, I was introduced to numerology in 1969 by a friend who had a reputation for going from one strange encounter to the next. He was passionately enthralled with his latest discovery, and I decided to acquire some background information to effectively counter his arguments. At the time, I was teaching computer technology, having come from an educational background in electronics, industrial process controls and the advanced technological measurement of physical phenomena. At the time, I believed the universe ran strictly on known scientific law.
When I signed up for an introductory course, my intention was to acquire sufficient knowledge to invalidate numerology and therefore rescue my friend from another of his hare-brained ideas.
I studied with vigor and each time I believed I had found a loophole, I challenged my instructor who patiently pointed out the fallacies of my logic. After six months of concerted effort to invalidate numerology, I reluctantly decided to change my attitude and adopt a more positive approach.
It's now more than 50 years since I was introduced to numerology and it has been the core measuring stick of my life and an exceptionally helpful tool for investigating other belief systems. Seldom is there a day when I don't counsel at least one person on their life's experience based on the tools of numerology. Each day offers me deeper insights into the process of life through the metaphor of numbers.
Even so, sometimes I get obstinate and decide that I am allowing numbers and the natural cycles articulated by numerology to dictate my life. At such times, I say "To heck with numerology, I'm going to do it anyway". Those times have fostered the major losses of my life. Slowly I'm becoming more accepting of life and allowing it to be the way it is rather than the way I think it's supposed to be.
During my early studies of numerology, I was plagued with the desire to make the process of learning it more inviting and credible. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my insights with you.
