C. S. Stein

C. S. Stein is the pen name of Carolyn and Steve Stein. Steve is an award-winning military historian, specializing in military history and strategy. He has written seven books, spanning topics in military, maritime, and sexual history, including his popular volume, Military Strategy for Writers.

Carolyn writes short stories ranging from historical fantasy to romance to science fiction, and has been published in a variety of venues. Some of her short stories are collected in Lightning Scarred and Sweet Lies in addition to her appearances in other anthologies.

In addition, Steve and Carolyn have written several gaming books and short stories together, including a popular series of Call of Cthulhu game supplements. In fiction, they bend toward historical fiction.
