Narendar Kumar

Narendar Kumar, an enthusiastic spatial planner, trained geographer, & featured young author, believes in working at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity, and human well-being. Currently, he works with the Sustainable Cities & Transport program at the World Resources Institute (WRI) and is based out in Lucknow city in Uttar Pradesh to prepare Comprehensive Electric Mobility Plans for ULBs of the state. He resides in village Lasedi of district Churu, Rajasthan, India. He wants to put his thoughts into action to create cutting-edge solutions that save the environment, improve living standards, and promote quality of life. Mr. Kumar is a highly organized and self-esteemed person with pragmatic approaches. Through his experiences, he has acquired profound knowledge in conducting versatile surveys, collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data. Teamwork, liveliness, dedication, multi-tasking, lifelong learning & enthusiasm are his strengths.

He has about five years of experience in the Urban and Regional Planning discipline. During his initial career, he was based out at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi; Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur; IIT-Guwahati; and Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Nagpur etc. to perform his demesne for various plans preparation of variegated scales. The nature of the work was largely on preparing the Master Plan, Regional Plan, and Zonal Development Plans. He has also worked on the Zonal Master Plan of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary and Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ), and the National Rurban Mission (NRuM). Mr. Kumar felt highly delighted after his teaching ventures working as an Assistant Professor (visiting faculty) at Jagannath University, Jaipur where he taught postgraduate students of planning.

He has earned two postgraduate degrees, one in Urban and Regional Planning from the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts (JNAFA) University, Hyderabad, and another in Geography from Kurukshetra University. He has also completed a yearlong course in Remote Sensing and GIS. The author is an accredited town planner and an honorary associate member of ITPI- New Delhi. In his free time, he enjoys playing cricket, listening to music, visiting new places, and learning across disciplines.
