Thank you for visiting my Author Page.

I grew up in Wales/ UK among a creative family, with the musicality of the Welsh language having influenced my lyrical style of writing since an early age.

This is described in Welsh as “telynegol”, or harp-like and poetic.

I like to convey a sense beyond the literal, largely imbued with humor.

My love of writing bilingually was given expression following a serious accident that brought to an end my career as a public health practitioner, peripatetic teacher, and medical translator.

My experiences in the field of child development and the privilege of having worked with children and families with additional needs contribute to my work as an author and curriculum content creator.

I feel passionate about the cause of literacy and delighted that my writing has been recognized for excellence in children’s literature. This includes an international win set by the Frankfurt Book Fair to represent the UK at Gamescom, Cologne to present my concept titled: The Flitlits.

The Flitlit concept, supported by the Welsh/UK Government, is ever-evolving, with a piloted Flitlit-related reading scheme having featured on Amazon’s Publishing Program since September 2023.

The reading scheme enhances knowledge, skills, and attitudes. It increases language proficiency for study and personal enrichment while contributing to lifelong learning.
Working with young learners and their teachers, parents, and carers in and out of the school setting has been an absolute pleasure.

Collaborations with superb illustrators has helped in terms of bringing the Flitlit concept to life. Classroom exercises found students continuing work on their written and art work on school yards during breaks through refreshing enthusiasm, which was delightful.

One student asked a question directed at my illustrator, asking whether he had millions of pounds! The reply offered was “Not on me!” This generated such laughter. Such has been the enjoyment of creating the reading scheme and its reception.
