Gregory J. Retallack

I was professor of geology, retired after 40 years in the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oregon, and am the most cited author from that department. My interests have been primarily in fossil plants and soils, extending back to the origin of the solar system. Fossil soils have been important clues to understanding the global thermostat which has maintained Earth's habitability for the past 3.7 billion years.
