Helen Irving

I am a mother of 5 and a grandmother of 7, soon to become 8.

I live in the city of Ballarat in Victoria Australia. Ballarat is known for its gold and beautiful heritage buildings. Home to Sovereign Hill, a gold rush town tourist attraction in the heart of Ballarat. Sovereign Hill attracts 1000's of visitors yearly.

I penned "The Monster in the cupboard" as a song for my daughter 26 years ago and have continued to sing it to all my grandchildren.

My sister tried continually to get me to submit it as a book, but I was reluctant to begin with.

My sister passed away last year, and, in her memory, I decide to do it and sent it off to a publisher. As is obvious, it was accepted as a book to be published. I was both surprised and excited.

I am an avid quilter and create wall hangings I paint and quilt. My work has been greatly praised by my peers for which I am very proud.

I love my story of "The Monster in the Cupboard" and I hope you will too. There is a couple more stories about my Monster I intend to submit. Keep your eyes out for them.
