Larry Klimas

Larry Klimas and Anthony F. Siciliano are first cousins and were both born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. "From The South Side" is their first book.

During the years 1964 through 1974 they were in a band together, and gigged around the greater Chicago area before going on the road. They played night clubs throughout the midwest and as far away as Florida and Boston.

The music scene was changing rapidly in the late ’60’s and by 1971, their group, Puzzle, was writing original music. In 1972, they signed a Motown Records recording contract. They recorded their first album in Detroit at the world famous Hitsville U.S.A. recording studio before moving to Los Angeles. In LA they recorded two more albums before the group split up for personal reasons.

Anthony went to work for Johnny Tillotson before working for Mac Davis, and then Rick Nelson. He moved on to producing records but the unpredictability of the music business led him to getting a job selling pianos. After learning the piano business from the ground up he started his own company, NPI. He’s now one of the top Yamaha piano dealers in the world. He is married, lives in Miami Beach and produces several jazz concerts a year in southern Florida.

Klimas led the house band on the TV show, The Midnight Special, for two years. Next came playing live with the best local groups in L.A. That exposure led to recording sessions for jingles, movie soundtracks, and record albums. He has toured and recorded with major artists like WAR, The Manhattan Transfer, Chicago, Billy Ocean, Denise Williams, Randy Crawford, Joe Sample, Robby Krieger, and Neil Diamond. There are also 2 CD’s recorded under his own name. Retro-spec(t) and The Ledge. He is married and continues to live in L.A.
