Pastor Marcus L. Ellison is a native of Farmerville, LA. He is married to the love of his life, Tasheka Morris-Ellison, and they are the proud parents of one daughter, Morgan LaDawn Ellison.
In May of 2004, Pastor Ellison preached his initial sermon at the Zion Hill Baptist Church of Farmerville, LA. After his initial sermon, he served as an Associate Minister at the Lake Providence B.C. of Nashville, before joining the ministerial staff of the Avenue Baptist Church in Shreveport, where C. L. Hicks Sr. serves as pastor. In July of 2012, Pastor Ellison was installed as Pastor of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Greenwood. Under his leadership, the church has grown numerically, financially, and spiritually. In 2016, Mt. Olive Baptist Church constructed a new 18,000-sq. ft. Multi-Purpose Facility.
Pastor Ellison has a strong desire to study and teach the Word of God. He is a strong advocate for higher learning. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from the B.M.A. Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, TX in 2009 and a Master of Arts in Religion from B.M.A. in 2010. Pastor Ellison later received a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Liberty Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA.
Pastor Ellison is grateful for the opportunity that God has given him to serve as Pastor/Teacher of the Mt. Olive B.C. of Greenwood, La. His motto is “To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Required.”
