Becoming an author was a childhood dream of mine. I always loved writing short stories when I was a kid which turned to journaling and writing meditations as I got older. My initial idea for Pocket Dragons was nothing to do with dragons — but I’m grateful it morphed into them as what an amazing journey it’s been, bringing the characters to life.
Being originally from the west country of England, I was brought up with everything from fairy myths to King Arthur tales and all sorts in between. Glastonbury, Cornwall, Stonehenge and Avebury were on our doorstep and their history and legends still have a massive impact on me to this day and definitely influenced my writing.
The outdoors and tramping through the NZ forests or along the beaches, is my way of relaxing. Growing food is my latest hobby but making beeswax candles and aromatherapy products to sell at local markets is also a favourite past-time. I’m a Reiki healer and crystal energy worker and have a small studio where I see my clients.
Thank you choosing to read Pocket Dragons, I hope you have as much fun being whisked away on its magical adventure, as I had writing it.
