Marta Miranda-Straub

I am a poet and storyteller who harnesses her lived experience as an Afro-Caribean immigrant woman to weave poems, essays and stories highlighting trauma, resilience and celebration of all that is normally rejected by dominant culture.

My professional experience as a social justice activist , professor, and executive leader has informed a successguln50 year career, to thrive at the margins.

I am a proud member of the Affrilician Poets inducted in 2009 by Kentucky Poet Laureate, Frank X Walker.
