Vicky Thomas

My name is Vicky and I am a needle felt artist from the North East of England. I first started needle felting at the end of 2021. I had seen a few needle felting videos on social media and remembered someone mentioning in passing that it was an easy craft to learn so I ordered myself a cheap starter kit online. The first thing I made was a fairly rubbish bumble bee (so rubbish that I never bothered to give him wings) but from that moment on I was hooked. I quickly moved on to making fluffy versions of my guinea pigs, Ethel and Maude, which were a hit as soon as I posted them online and I quickly started getting requests from guinea pig owners to recreate their own furry potatoes in wool.

One thing I struggled to find amongst the needle felting tutorials, YouTube channels and books was any instruction on how to create clothes and accessories for my felted characters so I set about figuring out my own designs and this inspired me to write my first book, "Needle Felted Accessories".

I hope to continue making adorable woolly characters and sharing my techniques with other lovers of this fantastic craft.
