Lisa Ost-Beikmann

I am Lisa Ost-Beikmann and I began my career in the long-term care industry during High School, working as a Candy Striper and then a Certified Nursing Assistant. Many years later, we relocated back to my Kansas hometown where I became an Activity Director. My passion for seniors quickly intensified and I wanted to do more! I furthered my education and became nationally certified through the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP) and the National Certified Council of Activity Professionals (NCCAP) as an Activity Consultant/Educator. I then received training as a Certified Dementia Practitioner and finally a Certified Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia Care Trainer.

In 2012, I founded Caring Hands Consulting, LLC; and traveled throughout the state of Kansas working with retirement homes on providing quality activity programs for their residents. It was a wonderful experience meeting countless healthcare professionals and residents as I visited numerous facilities. I was also able to teach the Certified Dementia Practitioner course throughout the nation at state and national conferences, privately within facilities, and as an independent consultant. In addition, I had the opportunity to speak at a variety of conferences on many aspects of the Activity Profession and the vital role these professionals play in the lives of our seniors.

The NAAP Board of Directors invited me to join their Board as the Education Outreach Trustee and I spent many hours with magnificent Activity Professionals throughout the nation working to continually build the notoriety this profession has long deserved.

I currently live in Hickory, NC with my fiancé and our "fur babies". Each day I have the pleasure of working with an outstanding group of people at EveryAge. Our organization is nationally recognized as ab industry leader among not-for-profit senior living organizations and in comprised of 12 locations that serve more than 2,000 older adults in North Carolina and Virginia.
