Allan Torres Camba is a Filipino-American educator who finds joy in expressing creativity through music, literature, and the thoughtful design of educational content, both in print and online. He is the founder of the Academy of Cultural Education (ACE), an educational initiative operating under Riverboy Studios, dedicated to culturally grounded, life-skills–centered learning.
Camba spent his childhood in a riverside home in Masidem, a small village in Bani, Pangasinan, Philippines. Growing up in this setting, he experienced the depth of Filipino culture and the beauty of a simple, community-oriented way of life. Summers were often spent by the river, racing tiny sailboats made from used flip-flops, plastic bags, and fishball sticks, while the rainy season brought adventures such as catching tadpoles and playing freely in the rain. These early experiences continue to shape his educational philosophy, grounding learning in curiosity, creativity, and lived experience.
Despite his humble beginnings, Camba pursued higher education with a strong commitment to cultural and historical inquiry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in Anthropology & Archaeology from Harvard University. His work today bridges scholarship and practice, emphasizing identity, culture, and meaningful human connection as essential foundations for education.
