Cheryl Wray

Cheryl Wray is an award-winning author of fiction and nonfiction who strives to provide her readers with entertaining and inspiring reads. Her nonfiction voice is engaging and relatable, providing information of special interest to creatives. Her book, Writing for Magazines, is used by aspiring writers around the world and subsequent books provide knowledge on a wide variety of writing topics. Written during the Covid pandemic, Notes from a Quarantine, includes a little bit of everything from Cheryl--essays, poems, and short stories that evolved from her experiences in 2020. And her most recent nonfiction project is the upcoming SEC Road Trip: Travels to Southern College Football Towns (slated for publication in Fall 2025).

Her fiction anthologies and novellas include compelling characters and plot-driven stories that readers love. Her latest fiction publications are Unexpected: Flash Fiction with a Twist and several upcoming romance and mystery novellas.

Cheryl is a former copy editor for a book publishing company and a sports reporter in Birmingham, Alabama. She currently serves as the coordinator of the Southern Christian Writers Conference, and is a popular speaker at writing workshops and other events.

She lives outside Birmingham, Alabama, where she enjoys everything Southern including college football (Roll Tide!) and sweet tea (the sweeter the better). She graduated from the University of Alabama with degrees in journalism.
