Jeff Yoshimi is a professor of philosophy and cognitive science at UC Merced. He is a founding faculty member, having arrived in 2004, before the campus opened to undergraduates. He has highly interdisciplinary interests, encompassing philosophy, cognitive science, phenomenology, neural networks, dynamical systems theory, citizen science, education, argumentation analysis, and visualization of complex processes. He is the creator of Simbrain, a software package for simulating neural networks in a visually accessible way, and of husserl-dot-net, an online resource for Husserl scholarship.
