Brooke Bourgeois

Brooke Bourgeois is a cartoonist, writer, and illustrator originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, now residing in New York City. Her cartoons have appeared in The New Yorker and The Wall Street Journal, amongst other publications. She is the author-illustrator of two children’s picture books that aim to conquer big emotions for characters both big and small: Penelope’s Balloons (2024), and her newest release The Grump Queen, out September 2026.
