Mark D. Ellison

Mark D. Ellison is a professor of Ancient Scripture and affiliate faculty of Ancient Near Eastern Studies and Global Women's Studies at Brigham Young University. He holds a PhD in early Christianity from Vanderbilt University and an MA in religious studies (Bible and archaeology) from the University of South Florida. He researches and publishes on early Christianity with interest in visual culture, material culture, biblical reception, worship and rituals, and the lived religion of ordinary Christians in late antiquity. He has published works for academic audiences and for Latter-day Saint readers.
