Tim Walter

Tim Walter is an author, teacher, and recording artist who writes with the heart of a pastor and the humor of a campfire storyteller. His passion is to help people rediscover God’s presence in the ordinary rhythms of life.

A preacher’s kid turned professional singer, Tim has worn many hats—winning regional baritone competitions, teaching music and elementary school, leading worship, and publishing books that weave theology, history, and story. He is the author of Elk Calling: A Father/Son Story, the historical fiction novel Boxcar Bob, and Sabbath: A Gift for Today, a devotional journey through one of God’s most forgotten blessings.

As a recording artist, Tim has released five albums (Jesus Be My Guide, Go Tell It, Come and See, A Beautiful Life, and Dreamer), blending gospel roots with storytelling lyrics. His songs are both prayers and stories—honest, heartfelt, and hopeful.

Tim and his wife Peggie have been married since 1984 and make their home in Harrisburg, Oregon. They have three sons—Nathan, Nicolas, and Stephen—who keep him humble, laughing, and occasionally ahead on technology. Two adopted daughters (one of whom is the biological daughter of the other), three beautiful daughters-in-law and a houseful of grandkids on special events. The Oregon mountains, forests, and rivers are his daily reminders of the Creator’s rest, and yes, the elk still out-call him now and then.
