Mutti Lewis

Mutti Lewis has always aimed to be, and is an inspiration to many around the world, through his music and selflessness. He is a philanthropist and advocate for education. In a time when the things that matter most are quite polarized, he still stands true to purpose and family values. Mutti loves his children (who are now adults) and used to read bedtime stories to them at night. They would stay up late in the evening until he got home from work just to hear what wonderful story he had conjured up; some of the stories were well known folk tales with a twist, while others came from his own life struggles mixed with the agony of defeat and the thrills of victories and triumph. As a kid his imagination would run wild, especially when he would look at children's books. He would follow the story wherever it takes him in his little world of fantasy; and he would find his way back to the true reality that awaits him, that was not always pleasant. But he would always go back to the attic of his little mind and smile at the things he read and the places it had taken him. He believes that every child should have a chance to experience this, because it helps them to dream the impossible dream. And what better way to do it, but through the wonderful world of storytelling. :)

His motto is always about "Who Will You Inspire." He understands that the early years of a child's life are the most important. His dedication to purpose has never diminished and for this reason he writes children stories so that someday his grandchildren and generations thereafter will stay inspired long after he is gone. He will never forget the incident that changed his life forever, the day when his 5th grade teacher Mrs. Wilson in middle school called out his name, "Mutti Lewis stand up!"

Mutti stood up, a bit frightened knowing that being called on by the teacher wasn’t usually a good thing, and could mean trouble. More importantly, Mutti was far from being among the popular kids the fact that he was poor. "Did you write this composition?" she shouted. "Yes, teacher I did," he replied. Mrs. Wilson seemed a bit taken a-back for some strange reason, as if she did not expect this kind of writing from a child like him, coming from humble beginning. She then asked, "Is this a true story?" . "Yes Mrs. Wilson," he said. "It happened to me over the summer holiday, and I just put it in a story" Mutti replied.

"Can I read this to the class?" Asked Mrs. Wilson." Yes, of course, you may". he said a bit nervously, while at the same time, knowing how unkind kids can be. When she finished reading his composition instead of the kids laughing at his bare feet, (the fact that he was poor, and did not have any shoes to wear to school, because his parent could not afford it,) they all started clapping, as they stood up and gave him a standing ovation. Mrs. Wilson then said, "This is how a composition is supposed to be written." She then turned to Mutti Lewis and said "Never stop writing kid! Never stop writing."

Mutti couldn't help but to put his head down on his desk (into his folded arms) and weep in silence. It was tears of gratitude mixed with pain and unbelief, because it was the first time, he felt a sense of belonging amongst his peers. His sense of gratitude was undeniable. The love that they had shown to him that day had transformed his outlook on life. But it was the words from his teacher's lips that has changed his life forever, leaving an indelible mark in the attic of his mind. Mutti then understood what words of encouragement mean and what they can do for an underprivileged child, or any child for that matter. It's for this very reason he is an author today. Words of empowerment are what change people's lives especially kids, who need that ray of hope!

Again, that motto Mutti seems to fashion his life around, “Who will you inspire," suddenly rings true. Due to that motto and Mrs. Wilson’s encouragement on that faithful day, some time ago, Mutti has founded a foundation called The Just-Suppose World Foundation. This foundation was formed solely for the purpose to give back to the less fortunate kids around the world, because he was one of them.

Mutti Lewis has written several books, in different genres, and also several kiddy songs of which "Happy Birthday to YOU " and "Look Listen & You Will Learn." are amongst the many that he was inspired to write. Though he is a prolific song writer, (the fact that he has dedicated his entire life to such calling) still he has a special love for children's books, because of what little stories of hope, love, forgiveness and empowerment can do to a child’s mind....... :)
