Aaron Daye

Aaron Daye is an accomplished author, co-founder of Black Films Matter, and owner of Aaron Daye Photography. His work has been published in over 40 national publications including Ebony Magazine, the New York Times, and Sports Illustrated.

Daye started his photography career as the first black photographer for The Gainesville Sun Newspaper, Santa Fe College, and the University of Florida. He has photographed prominent political figures such as President George W. Bush, First Lady Michelle Obama, First Lady Jill Biden, and Bernie Sanders. Additionally, he has captured iconic civil rights activists such as John Hope Franklin and John Lewis, and renowned gospel and hip-hop artists like Jekalyn Carr, Earnest Pugh, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake.

Before establishing Aaron Daye Photography, Daye worked for The Gainesville Sun, covering several significant stories in North Central Florida, including Pastor Terry Jones's burning of the Quran demonstration, which made international headlines.

Daye is a proud alumnus and 40 Under 40 honoree of North Carolina Central University.
