Mr John Regan

Biography

John Regan was formerly part of the management team at Chester Zoo and has since operated a consultancy for over twenty years acting for biodiversity focussed zoos and similar organisations around the world.

‘The Beast, The Boy and His Zoo’(first volume in 'The Zoo' trilogy) is his attempt at a ‘love letter’ to his professional community. He is also fascinated by mythology, ancient religions, literature of all sorts, philosophy, ethics and science; and especially the question of where exactly that boundary lies between human and animal minds.

So he has tried to baked all of that into his first novel. Whether the resulting confection is remotely edible will be for others to judge.

John lives in Manchester with his wife Diane and continues to operate his zoo fundraising consultancy.
