Corey James Smiley—professionally known as DJ PSYCOSMILEY—is a New Orleans–based author, visual creator, television producer, and lifelong DJ whose work lives at the intersection of music, art, technology, and personal transformation.
A DJ since 1988, Corey has spent decades exploring the culture surrounding turntables, electronic music, nightlife, and the creative lives of DJs. His media experience includes developing the TURN THE TABLES DJ TV SHOW with legendary Salt-N-Pepa DJ Spinderella and other internationally recognized female artists and DJs.
Corey is the creator of Great DJs of the World, an expanding publishing universe of DJ-themed coloring books, illustrated adventures, creative workbooks, and professional journals. His books transform turntables, sound systems, nightclubs, artificial intelligence, science fiction, global culture, and imaginative storytelling into distinctive experiences for colorists, music lovers, working DJs, producers, and creative minds of all ages.
A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in philosophy, Corey brings an intellectual and reflective dimension to his work. His interests in philosophy, artificial intelligence, psychology, healing, and emerging technology inspire books that are designed not only to entertain, but also to encourage imagination, mindfulness, resilience, and self-expression.
Whether he is imagining robotic DJs performing in futuristic clubs, developing practical journals for music professionals, or turning the history and culture of electronic music into visual art, Corey’s mission remains the same: to celebrate creativity, preserve DJ culture, and inspire readers to turn the tables on what a coloring book—or a creative life—can become.
