Abu Imam

Abu Imam is a writer and filmmaker with over 20 years of experience. He graduated with honours from the National Film Institute, Jos, earning a Bachelor's in Motion Picture Production. Imam founded ZA Media, a passionate media company focused on film, video, audio, and animation.

As a screenwriter, Imam is particularly skilled in writing for film, TV, and radio. He has over a decade of production experience across these mediums. Traveling and living in diverse countries provides a unique, global perspective that inspires his creative work.

Imam has also written several non-fiction books related to filmmaking, including "Documentary Filmmaking: A Crash Course", "From Script to Screen: How to Seek and Seize Opportunity in Filmmaking", "Making it in Media: Strategies for Monetizing Film, TV, Radio, and Print", and "The Introvert's Playbook for Leading Teams: Thriving in Management on Your Own Terms".

Imam's debut novel "Roses and Thorns" represents a homecoming to prose after years dedicated to screenwriting. Initially drafted in 1999, this labor of love finally found its way to shelves in 2023. Spanning decades, the book synthesizes Imam's lifelong immersion in the arts and his heartfelt return to fiction writing.
