Johannes Barthel

Johannes Barthel, born in 1965, married since 1992, has three grown-up children and six grandchildren.

Raised in a Christian home, Johannes came to a personal and deep conviction in his teenage years that Jesus is far more than a historical figure—and that faith in Him goes beyond religious routine. It was during this time that he discovered the life-changing reality of a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, as revealed in the Bible. This conviction, along with a deep trust in the truth and relevance of Scripture, has shaped and guided his life ever since.

After graduating with a degree in business administration and serving for several years as a civil servant for the Federal Republic of Germany, Johannes transitioned to full-time ministry in 1994. Since then, he has experienced the transforming power of the gospel both in local church settings and on mission trips to over thirty countries across and beyond Europe, often with small ministry teams. For him, it is a profound joy to witness the freedom people find through God’s Word—freedom from addictions, deliverance from idolatry, the restoration of marriages, and reconciliation within families.

Following several years serving as a pastor in a Spanish-speaking church in Andalusia, Johannes sensed God's call to return to Germany. Since the summer of 2010, he has been serving full-time as the director of Ebenezer Operation Exodus, a Christian ministry dedicated to supporting Israel. In addition to building up this work in Europe and Israel, Johannes remains deeply committed to encouraging and strengthening the Church, helping believers walk in their calling, and living out the purposes of God in these significant times.
