I am an educator, poet, and writer. I studied at the historical Florida Memorial University (Miami, FL) where I co-founded the renowned “Chapter 3 Poetry Troop.” I have conducted numerous poetry and writing workshops throughout South Florida and believe that writing is one of the tools to healing.
After becoming a mother in 2017, I developed a greater respect and appreciation for moms and all of the experiences that motherhood brings. This admiration motivated me to collaborate with organizations that provide support and resources to underserved mothers, especially moms who were victims of domestic violence.
I was born in Miami, Florida, but raised on the beautiful Island of Nassau, Bahamas. I considers my faith, family, and helping others to be the most important factors of my life.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and sons. Diaries of Broken Moms: The Secrets She Carries is Clarissa’s first published book.
