Mayan Ward

Here's a little bit about us and the books we wrote & compiled. Richard comes from computer animation background, Mayan studied art & education. We came to know about Meher Baba in 1992-3, met in Meherabad, India in 94, and married in 95. We love stories, art, movies, humor, and most of all - Meher Baba.

Chronological list of our books:

2010, The Guidance Card - a simple way to make or draw your own set of cards and how to use it to ask God for guidance.

2010, The First Time I Saw The Ocean - fiction, a story of a little girl's first visit to Meher Center, illustrated with knitted pictures of Baba and Meher Center.

2011, Knitting with Baba - How to knit pictures/tapestries, including charts for landscape of Meher Center, the Samadhi, Portraits of Meher Baba and more. If I would sum it up in one sentence, it's about having courage and saying "Yes, Baba" to the ideas He brings up.

2011, Color & Picture Knitting - is the same as Knitting with Baba, same charts, but without the Baba talk. It is for knitters who are not Baba lovers.

2013, The Mushroom Under The Elf - fiction, tells of an unusual friendship between an Elf who wandered far away from his meadow, and a mushroom who can not wonder away, but has to stay put, on her one little foot. Illustrated with photos of Meher Center and Brookgreen Gardens. Includes a game blanket knit pattern.

2014, Mixed tapestries - two short fiction stories, Rock to Rick is about the reincarnation cycle, and Dhuni, plus a little poem about God and how optimistic He is about us. Illustrated with nature photography and knitted pictures done in a special technique.

2017, Meher Baba Comforts - excerpts of daily inner talks with Meher Baba.

2020, The Vulturette - fiction, a loving parody of the Bachelorette TV show, in which a cantankerous female vulture seeks her soar-mate. Will she find him? Which one will he be?

2022, Little Efforts - inspired by Darwin Shaw's Effort & Grace, here are some little efforts to go with his big ones. A combination of Richard's drawings and Mayan's writings.

2022, Achilles Point - fiction, a story of unlikely friendship between 5 very different women, and their personal way of relating to God.

2022, Meher Baba in Our Dreams - collection of dreams about Baba that different people had through the years, with artwork by many wonderful artists.

2023, Meher Baba in Our Dreams 2 - More dreams from various people + wonderful artwork, and a variety of answers to the question "What is the difference between seeing Baba in a dream to seeing Him in real life?"

2023, Meher Baba & Birds - birds loved Meher Baba, and He touched the hearts of many people via birds. Here is a little collection of those stories, plus one chapter about a bird's flight over the Himalayas to Baba's feet, from Faith Knox's inspirational fiction book, The Goal of Life.

2023, Meherazad is The Place for me - describes a pilgrimage to Meherazad as it was in the 90's, from a child's point of view. We hope it will move your heart and make you shed a tear or two.

2023, Meher Baba in Our Dreams 3 - even more dreams about the Beloved, with a lot of artwork and a drawing by Mohamed the mast on the front cover.
