Kelsey Mora LCPC

Kelsey Mora is a dual certified child life specialist and licensed clinical professional counselor practicing in the Chicagoland area and available nationwide for consultation. She provides support to children, adolescents, and their parents in the context of illness and grief and is uniquely trained to guide caregivers on how to have difficult conversations with children.

Ms. Mora has developed The Method Workbooks series for delivering specific types of difficult information to children. These resources are designed to teach children about common diagnoses using honest, age-appropriate language, and a play-based approach. The first of these methods is The Dot Method, which is an intervention designed to educate children about cancer using honest, age-appropriate language and a play-based approach. This book is intended to be used by children and a trusted adult together. The tool can be used in various settings, from healthcare environments to therapy to home and is appropriate for any cancer relationship. The second of the methods is The Y Method focused on teaching kids about food allergies and immunotherapy.

Ms. Mora is available for consultations and presentations on illness, grief, and other life stressors. She is also the Chief Clinical Officer of Pickles Group - a nonprofit that provides free support and resources to kids and teens impacted by their parent's cancer.
