Ja’Donn Harris is a multifaceted individual: a father, author, coach, actor, educator, and entrepreneur. His diverse experiences have shaped his perspective and passion for positively impacting others.
Coach Harris is renowned for his global work with athletes, from youth to professional sports. As a single father, he witnessed the challenges posed by an outdated legal system, which often alienates fathers from their children's upbringing. Observing the repercussions—depression, suicide, substance abuse, and increased criminal activity—fueled his dedication to assisting fathers fighting to be present in their children’s lives.
Born in Waukegan, Illinois, Mr. Harris was actively engaged in sports like wrestling, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, track, and football. He also participated in organizations such as Royal Rangers, YDM, and co-founded SHADES, advocating for human rights.
Harris’s leadership and athletic achievements led him to Northern Illinois and Lake Forest College, where he played football for the Lake Forest College Forester’s. Post-college, he worked with the Chicago Bears, contributing to the drafting of Brian Urlacher, and later joined the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts in their scouting departments.
Driven by a desire for more hands-on involvement in athlete development, Harris transitioned to coaching. He achieved success with high school and college teams, including UWP, Trinity International University, and Luther College, producing All-American and Hall of Fame receivers.
Beyond coaching, Harris founded Hi-Intensity Sports Concepts, expanding his impact globally by using sports for organizational development and training. He also served in emergency coaching roles with teams like the Amien Spartiate's and Milano Rhino’s, transforming them into playoff contenders.
Additionally, Harris ventured into entertainment as an actor, manager, and casting director, appearing in national commercials for brands like GoDaddy, ACE Hardware, and Visa. He’s also been featured in both tv shows like Fox’s Empire as a music executive and films like Disney’s Noel.
Now an author, Harris shares his unique life experiences, especially with his daughter and future generations. He emphasizes active participation in life’s adventure and advocating for the greater good. A portion of his book sales supports advocacy programs for fathers and children in need, reflecting his commitment to making a positive difference
