Karen Benckenstein

Karen Benckenstein has risen from the belief that anything could hold her back to the heights of pursuing lifelong goals. From returning to college a decade after dropping out to graduating with a Master’s degree from the 3rd highest ranked program in the county; from battling infertility to mom of 4 teenagers; from secretary to fundraiser, executive director to author; and from back surgery consult, can’t finish a fitness class to group water fitness instructor; she has lived a story of breaking free of all limits.

When her husband was diagnosed with late-stage, advanced congestive heart failure 6 months into their relationship, his refusal to die as expected resulted in a drastic life change in mind, body, and spirit for the entire family. Karen lost 60 pounds and gained perspective, peace, and passion. She is now living out her dreams of being a writer and speaker, helping others find the same holistic wellness.

A few of Karen’s credentials include:

Bachelor’s in Public Administration from WTAMU and a Master’s of Public Administration from USC
