Luca Sciacchitano

Luca Sciacchitano is an author and essayist with degrees in Arts and Technology and Modern Linguistics. His work spans fiction, non-fiction, and photography, with a particular focus on conflict, human rights, and the cultural dynamics of contemporary society.

His writings have appeared in Il Sole 24 Ore, La Stampa, and Pressenza, for which he also conducted an in-depth investigation into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

He has presented his work at major Italian cultural events, including BookCity Milano and the Turin International Book Fair, as well as in cities such as Rome, Venice, Bologna, Pisa, Lucca, and Trapani.

He is an Amnesty International activist and holds a territorial coordination role within the organization. His novel Le Ombre di Nahr was a finalist for the 2024 Premio Argentario. He also promoted the introduction of the neologism “Pelecidio” into the Italian vocabulary.
