Alison Thompson

Dance and movement have always played a huge part in Alison’s life, ever since she was a child. After training as a professional dancer at London Contemporary Dance School & graduating with a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Dance & Choreography, she went on to further her dance studies at California Institute Of The Arts. She has been lucky enough to work for several leading UK dance companies, & has enjoyed a varied career of performing & teaching, alongside raising her three children. It was this combination of her dance knowledge & playing with her children that led her to create Sunny Steps, a dance & movement class for 2- 4 year olds. Having run these classes for over 20 years, she decided to turn her creativity towards writing a children’s book called “Sunny Steps Loves To Dance”. It is based on how she used to play with her own children, taking them on fun & exciting dancing adventures, out of the playroom & into the wonderful world of dance.
