Rolly Dessert is a graduate of West Point in the Class of 1972. He served in the U.S. Army for over twenty-eight years, providing leadership to Soldiers from platoon to brigade level. He also served on the Faculty at the US Military Academy, in the Office of the Army Chief of Staff, and as Commander, 4th Battalion, 64th Armor. He participated in an Army War College fellowship at the School of Advanced Military Studies. He was the Commander, U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. After retiring from active service in 1999, he was President of the Leavenworth Catholic Schools, and later a Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, a management consulting firm. He is currently a facilitator and executive coach at Academy Leadership.
Rolly has served his community as President of the Leavenworth Lions Club, President of the Henry Leavenworth Chapter of the Association of the United States Army; Trustee, University of Saint Mary; Chairman of the Xavier Catholic School Board of Trustees; and Member of the Board for the Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope, a homeless ministry in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Rolly joined Academy Leadership in 2012 where he brings to bear many years of professional experience from government, industry, and not-for-profit sectors in helping executives, leaders, and managers in meeting their demanding challenges. Rolly and his wife Karen reside in Lansing, Kansas and are the proud parents of ten children, twenty-six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
