Peter G. A. Phillips

Peter G.A. Phillips is a veteran of 27 years in the British Army Intelligence Corps, including working as a Russian, German, and Serbo-Croat linguist, thereafter spending five years as part of a Civil Service team training British Armed Forces personnel to serve in UK diplomatic missions. He is now retired and spends his time translating Russian military histories of the Coalition Wars. His published translations include: Mikhailovsky-Danilevsky's histories of the wars of 1805 and 1806-1807; a collaboration with renowned Napoleonic historian Dr Alexander Mikaberidze of Ilya Radozhitskii's trilogy of memoirs covering 1812-1814; Bogdanovich's histories of the Russian Patriotic War of 1812, German Liberation War of 1813 and the invasion of France in 1814; as well as numerous articles for The Waterloo Association's partner Napoleon-Series website. Peter now lives in the Philippines with his Filipina wife since 1989. They have two adult daughters.
