Dirk Biesinger

For more than twenty years, Dirk Biesinger has been building Boreas.

What began as the foundation for an interactive world gradually evolved into a living civilization, shaped by its history, languages, cultures, generations of accumulated experience, and the artifacts they left behind. In 2023, after decades of development, Dirk began making that world accessible for exploration through prose.

His professional background includes Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Data Science. He applies the same first-principles approach to worldbuilding, developing the systems, histories, structures, and relationships that underpin Boreas. While he writes and creates his work without the use of AI, he employs custom solutions and analytical tools to help manage the immense body of information behind the world.

Originally from Germany, Dirk immigrated to Canada before settling in the Greater Seattle area, where he currently lives with his wife, two poodles, and three cats.
