I put my roots down in the Pacific Northwest where I have become entwined with the varied human and natural landscapes of the area. While I thrive on being connected with the world around me, I love how fiction can unveil alternative perspectives and unexpected journeys. Having served the needs of science as an environmental professional, I now create stories exploring how individuals live in society and with nature. Writing has been an interesting journey for me. I hope that as you read, it will be an interesting journey for you.

Three of my novels, Out of the Night Sky, The Colonists, and Yesterday’s Gifts, explore a science fiction circumstance within the familiar setting of contemporary society. You’ll meet characters caught up in unusual events, yet also working through who they are and what they want to do with their lives; how to live with personal authenticity and agency while the forces of society and circumstance influence their thoughts and actions. In my novel, Mariposa Creek, the protagonist and his friends have a continuing philosophical discussion that leads them to seek a life that brings them and others joy. Means to No End follows a character finding his way through the ebb and flow of life, seeking his sweet-spot.
