I’m Hui Wang, an author of narrative history who explores how civilizations rise, flourish, struggle, and sometimes collapse.

I write for curious general readers rather than academic specialists. I believe history should feel alive—not like a dry catalogue of dates, names, and dynasties, but like a fascinating story told by a knowledgeable friend. Through careful research, clear explanations, vivid storytelling, and occasional humor, I aim to make complex historical events accessible, memorable, and genuinely enjoyable to read.

For more than a decade, I have studied and written about warfare, empire, political power, commerce, technological change, and the forces that shape the course of civilizations. I’m especially interested in the human side of history: the ambitions that build kingdoms, the mistakes that destroy them, the ideas that transform societies, and the ordinary people who live with the consequences of decisions made by rulers, generals, and institutions.

I hold bachelor’s degrees in Computer Software Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. I have also completed professional training and certifications through Apple and Google, along with psychology coursework through Yale University. My background in technology, business, and human behavior helps me examine history not simply as a sequence of events, but as a living system shaped by power, incentives, institutions, beliefs, and human choices.

My goal is simple: to offer readers history that is thoughtful, well researched, easy to follow, and difficult to forget. I want each book to feel less like a textbook and more like an engaging conversation.
