Born in Paris in 1980, Rahel Makonnen now resides in London. After working as an executive producer in the field of film and television post-production, overseeing the production of films, she chose to deepen and enrich her artistic field by developing her own literary projects. Rahel continues her work in the film and advertising industry as a freelance, but, passionate about reading from a young age, writing has become an essential part of her daily life.
Observing and analyzing the different personalities around her is a pleasure for Rahel, and being able to transcend them is a source of joy. Russian literature (Mikhail Bulgakov) as well as Spanish (Pedro Almodovar) and Serbian cinema (Emir Kusturica) have strongly influenced her literary style. She intertwines characters with intense emotions, sometimes flirting with hysteria, and dramatic situations that evolve into bizarre and unexpected twists.
In a completely different genre, she is also a fan of Liane Moriarty.
"La Troisième Seconde" is her second novel, following "Dors en paix" published by Amalthée editions.
