Janet Flaugher is the author of many children’s books told in English and Spanish, a book of poetry, a personal memoir and a memoir about her father, and a cookbook. In 2021, she published "My Father's Voice", a biography posthumously chronicling her father’s life through his own stories about growing up during the Depression, WWII, and becoming a celebrated educator/administrator. She has just published a new children’s book, “What If We Had a Dinosaur?: In Interactive Children's Fantasy Story”, beautifully illustrated by Colorado artist, Charles Luna. The book received an excellent Kirkus review. “. . . brightly painted illustrations. . . for early-emergent readers, encouraging independent reading. . . perfect for preschool and early elementary students, especially those who can never get enough dinosaurs.” — Kirkus Reviews. Janet has traveled extensively in the United States, Mexico, and Europe, and was the superintendent of an international school in Beijing, China. She is currently working on three new books, a sequel to What If We Had a Dinosaur called 10 Rules for Keeping a Dinosaur (and Other Pets), one about rivers and one about what it’s really like to live in China.
