I love to write. I wrote my first book in High School on an old typewriter. Night after Night. My Dad brought in an article out of the newspaper about a writer who committed a life-changing mistake. He did not understand the artist in me. I finished that book but lost it somewhere in the sixties. I attended Pasadena Playhouse and became an actor. I was in "Keep Off My Grass" and was, Dante, the only hippie who died. Ha. After years of being a Dad of four and loving it, I became a songwriter and produced a CD, "Poems, Promises, and ?" Anyway, I discovered screenwriting and now have about thirty stories. Through the years of writing movies I attended classes in Hollywood along with pitch sessions. One particular producer insisted that he would not look at a screenplay that did not have a "book". So, therefore, I loved " The Trudeau File" movie script, and recently decided to turn it into a book. I get emotional...cry a little...every time I read through it. Why not? I added things to the book not in the screenplay. A screenplay has only things in it that can be seen or heard. Not, he was thinking back....scenes. You introduce you characters the first time in caps. I did this in my book because I like it that way. But one of the great things about a book is that it can be as long as you want it, whereas a screenplay is now limited to 125 pages, but they want less. In the book I was able to embellish the characters. I added humor to the butler for example. Look for it along with my next book. By the way, amazon has been wonderful to work with.
