David Lascelles

David Lascelles is an award-winning financial journalist and author of books on a wide range of historical subjects. He spent much of his early career at the Financial Times where he was New York Correspondent and Banking Editor. After the FT, David set up a City-based think tank, the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation, to research the future of the financial services industry. His books include histories of City institutions and the banking profession, and a history of the Lascelles family whose early prosperity was based on the sugar trade. His most recent book is a biography of Sir Horace Jones (1819-1887), the architect of Tower Bridge. David lives in North London. His personal interests include music (he plays the piano and the French horn), and long-distance walking. He is married with two children.
