Aya Wang

Aya Wang is an advocate for teenagers and the author of Don’t Panic!

Her work is centered around mental health support for teens and young adults, striving to educate and motivate them to work on improving their mental health and find peace and fulfillment in life.

Aya’s passion for supporting teenagers started with her younger sister, who suffered from extreme social anxiety disorder as a teenager. In an effort to help, she bought her several books about anxiety, which she later discovered were either too clinical for teens to relate to, or too depressing to provide inspiration or motivation. After struggling with her own anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic, Aya began to understand more about what her sister had been through. Through therapy and persistent work, she was able to get her anxiety under control, and began researching the condition in earnest.

Determined to provide other teenagers with the help she could not give to her sister at the time, Aya is now focused on delivering support to young people in an empowering, motivating, and engaging style. Her most important goal was to write the book she wished she could have given her little sister, empowering young readers with the knowledge, encouragement, and tools they need to work through their challenges, improve their mental health and self-esteem, and live a happier life.

Aya moved away from the corporate world to focus on her work with teenagers. She is a researcher at heart, and she’s passionate about expanding her own learning. She loves to travel – particularly if there’s a beach involved: No matter where it is, the beach is her happy place!
