Wouter van der Westhuizen

The author has been serving as a pastor in various pastoral roles since the age of eighteen and is currently serving in the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Phokeng, near the town of Rustenburg in the North-West Province, South Africa. The author has been involved in producing educational material for discipleship training programs and courses to train aspiring preachers and teachers in the local church. The denominational church affiliation the author is currently serving in, has its roots in the 1909 Azusa Street Revival in the USA. The current church in its African setting has a global reach into many countries and continents.

The author is trained as a chartered accountant and holds a postgraduate degree in Theology. He has extensive experience in both the corporate world and church missions. Having travelled extensively, the author has a fair understanding of diverse cultures in and outside the church. He has also studied how other religions stand up to the true Gospel of Christ. Part of the author’s research and passion is to understand the Theological basis and practical outworking of the relationship between God and mankind. Over many years the author has devoted time and energy to help believers in the church to know God better. It is the author’s resolve to see believers invest their time, energy and talents in what is of eternal worth, compared to temporary worldly happiness. It is the author’s deep conviction that God has something amazing in store for every believer, which goes much further than just being saved from their sin. The author’s work will draw the believer’s attention to God’s true intention regarding their salvation.

It has been the author’s personal journey to seek and understand why God wants to reconcile people to Himself. As a person actively involved in managing a family business, the author has seen and experienced both the lure and the deceitfulness of worldly wealth. The author has seen God involve Himself in his personal life, causing him to ask: Is there perhaps something more to the average Christian life we are missing out on?
